And why exactly is Katy Perry in an Adidas commercial?

And is it really a good idea to include ND in the commercial? I mean a team that has gone 24-26 over the past four seasons?

Top 8 Things to do on St. Patrick's Day: #5

#5 Eat Corned Beef and Cabbage

In my ongoing commitment to do authentic Irish things, eating corned beef and cabbage is a must. I know it is not exactly...good, but that makes it Irish. There are plenty of places to go around Boston to get authentically bad cabbage, and the corned beef is always at least somewhat good. So go have an Irish breakfast with an Irish coffee, then consume some mildly delicious corned beef and cabbage. It is awesome. Trust me, you will feel justified that you have been Irish enough to even go out and have crappy green beer.

Top 8 things to do on St Pattys!

#6: Talk In an Irish accent

This one has to be my favorite. How many times do you get to say “Top o the morning to ya!” and not sound like a total tool? The answer is not many. With your green beer in hand and kiss me Im Irish shirt, you will fit in quite well. Here’s the trick! Soften you’re A’s so the sound not like “ay” but more like “ah”, and use words like Bollucks, Laddie, and Lassie. And rrrememberrr to rrroll your R’s! Put all those together and talk like every word surprises you and people will think you’re straight off the boat from Ireland! If all else fails, just do a Scottish accent….nobody will know the difference.

Top 8 Things to do on St. Patrick's Day

#7: Drink (green) Beer
Let me just start by saying "I DO NOT SUPPORT ANYONE DRINKING GREEN BEER ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY". But, Steve made the list so I'm following along.

Why would anyone celebrate the man who brought Christianity to Ireland by drinking green beer? Did you know until recently in Ireland all pubs had to be closed on St. Patrick's Day? And what is the purpose of dying your beer green? Does it make you less of a drunk and seem more Irish? Because just getting drunk makes you Irish. You should not dye your beer green in an effort to be "cool" because you aren't, you are just being stupid.

Instead, sit down with your friends and loved ones, and enjoy a nice NON-DYED Guiness, or Murphy's, or Killian's, whatever suits you best. Sing one of these songs and enjoy your company, and celebrate both St. Patrick and Irish culture.

Top 8 things to do on St Pattys day

#8: Wear Green

Nobody likes to get pinched. So if you’re trying to keep those grubby high schoolers fingers off of you, you better wear some green. What other day do you get to go out of your way to throw on that bright green t-shirt and that crazy green tophat? Exactly! So dig through your drawers and find the grossest, brightest, most flamboyant green shirt, sweater or whatever and wear it with pride! If you’re feeling really frisky you can even grow a big bushy beard. Extra points if its red.

LOST PODCAST

On February 8th, 2011, tragedy struck Sports Night. 36 and one-half minutes into our show, my computer crashed. BOOM. We recounted the details here.

However, through use of advanced technological innovations, we have been able to recover the Lost Podcast! Listen and enjoy. None of us ever thought this day would come. You are welcome.

#1: Mexico

Hola Mi Amigos!? Hablas Espanol? Me Either! But that won’t stop me from dreaming about going to Mexico for spring break. Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, and the spring break standard CANCUN are all popular Mexican spring break destinations. Imagine it; 500,000 spring breakers, packed into a tiny area, all sloppy drunk, all trying to catch a glimpse of Carson Daly and other B-list celebrities!! Sounds like my kind of party! So if you plan on going to Mexico just think about the warm weather and hot babes!...and not about the bird flu, the guerilla warfare, the drug lords taking over, the kidnappings, and the tap water that causes explosive diarrhea! I heard the beaches are SOO nice if the police let you leave your hotel! And you can’t forget about the food, It will be like you’re staying in a chipotle for a week! So what’s stopping you?

YOU BOYS LIKE MEX-I-CO??????

Top 8 Things to do on Spring Break: 2

And now we come to the number 2 thing to over Spring Break.

#2: Travel to Europe

So you have friends studying abroad and continuously tell you how much fun they are having. Then you show them that BC hockey just won Hockey East and is on the path for a third title in four years, and they will miss the celebration. And the basketball team is probs making the tourney this year, which is awesome. And they have to miss the #1 most fun day of the year, Marathon Monday. So you aren't actually jealous of them anymore, but you would love to check out Europe anyway. Plus, you here that Europeans love to have a good time when Americans come visiting for Spring Break. (Actually, I have never heard that, but you may have.) So, if you have like $3000 just sitting around and have no idea what to do with it, you probs cant get much better than going to Europe. See cool sites, have fun with friends/locals, and slap your friends when they try to speak with an accent. I actually have heard that they go crazy during spring break, seriously, look it up. Their parties rival anything we Yanks can do. So, yes, going to Europe for break would be awesome.

Top 8 things to do on Spring Break: 4-3

Continuing on in our week-long look at the best things to do this Spring Break, we give you numbers 4 and 3.

#4: Florida
Florida is practically the Spring Break capital of the world. Thousands and thousands of college students without enough money to go abroad head down to the Southern Sunshine State. Steve will be in Bradenton, personally showing everyone around. This year should be especially awesome as our Spring Break coincides with Mardi Gras/Ash Wednesday, and New Orleans is right next door. Which would be awesome. But there's plenty to do in Florida, just ask LeBron.

One rule if you go to Florida for break: You must announce while boarding the plane "I'm taking my talents to South Beach"

#3: ACC Tourney
Want to see BC possibly win our first ever ACC Tourney title? Or more probably, want to see Duke and UNC play in the finals? YOU CAN!! From March 10th to the 13th, the ACC Tournament will take place in beautiful Greensboro, NC. Watch BC win our first game against pathetic Wake Forest, and then beat either Clemson or VaTech. Then you can watch us lose to Duke! You can also be the only BC fan there! Should be fun!

Top 8 things to do on Spring Break: 6-5

#6: Appalachia
So you’ve got this uncontrollable urge to change the world and be a pioneer of social justice? What can you do to satisfy this desire? How about Appalachia? Its fun (I assume), fulfilling (another assumption) and a great way to meet girls! (fact) It’s basically BC’s dating service. You can choose from many wonderfully exotic locations like “really close to Mexico but still Arizona!”, Nawlens Louisiana, and South Philly! Or if you’re in search of some extra roommates to fill out that 8-man in Vandy, look no further then social justice trips. So hop on that 10 to 24 hour bus ride with all of your future best friends and go save the world! According to my calculations…about 99% of your friends are doing it…why aren’t you?
#5 Road Trip
Every college student must take a road trip before graduation. Why not have it be during spring break. Grab a couple of Broskies and a couple of Brewskies and be on your way.
Things you will need:
1. A car (preferably a car with multiple rows of seats or lots of legroom)
2. A destination: You can choose to party it up with friends at another school. Keep in mind friends with beach/Ski houses are MONEYYYY. Be friends with those people.
3. Fooooood: So after the first few stops you will realize that eating a Cheesy Crunchwrap supreme for every meal is not nice to you or the rest of the passengers in the car. So I suggest having multiple sandwiches per person ready. Along with some Cheetos, a few poptarts, and a cooler full of sody pop….and you’ve got yourself a road trip
4. A camera: Never miss the opportunity to snap the picture of your friends asleep, leaning on eachother for support.

Top 8 Things to do on Spring Break: 8-7

We are going to count down this week the top 8 things to do on Spring Break. It will be mildly funny. So, if you still haven't made plans, then this is our little bit of advice:

#8: Staying Here
Admit it, there are several of you staying here over break. Your parents simply don't love you enough to buy you a ticket home. You will sit in your room over break, wondering why there is no one around. You will pretend that you "need to catch up on work", or "my team has practice". But, we all know the truth, you are going to be stuck in Chestnut Hill with 30 degree weather wondering why there's really nothing to do. Though, on the plus side, you can watch BC basketball wrap up an NCAA tourney invite with a win over pathetically bad Wake Forest.

#7: Going Home
This is the "I really have nothing else to do" solution. You decided not to go on Appa, you don't have any plans, and you don't have any friends from Florida who would be willing to let you stay the week. It could be fun going home, but face it, NO OTHER SCHOOL HAS OFF NEXT WEEK. You will be Home Alone. Have fun explaining to your parents how your semester is going and how you have become best friends with your roommate. Maybe hang out with your friends who stayed local for school, but really it will be a boring week.
